Calista Flockhart`s role trimmed on Brothers & Sisters

On the heels of Rob Lowe’s shock departure from Brothers & Sisters, Calista Flockhart will take on a reduced schedule next season. EW reports the tiny Flockhart, who plays Kitty of the Walker family who is married to Lowe’s character, will remain a series regular, according to an ABC spokesperson. Flockhart will most likely appear in at least 13 of next season’s 22 episodes, EW says.

The website cites an insider that confirms Flockhart’s lighter workload was a contributing reason for Lowe’s departure. He was feeling his role as a republican senator lately struck down in his prime by a heart attack was diminished. Flockhart’s character plays a lead role in the series alongside Sally Field, the family matriarch. Lowe, 45, leaves his role as Senator Robert McCallister after just four seasons, his publicist confirmed. [SOURCE]
